NEW CANAAN — Two people were taken into custody March 19 after a search of their car turned up pot and hash oil, police said.
Adam Robertson, 19, was behind the wheel of the car when an officer on patrol said Robertson allegedly drove through the stop sign on Grove Street. After stopping the car, the officer said he could see two clear, plastic bags of marijuana in plain view on the back seat. A search by police K9 Apollo turned up over 2.5 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, over $500 in cash, a glass pipe, and a glass container of hash oil, police said.
Robertson, of Appleblossom Lane, Newtown, was charged with conspiracy to commit sale of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond and given a court date of March 28.
His passenger, Brandon Ryan, 22, of Craig Lane, Trumbull, was charged with use and possession of drug paraphernalia, sale of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance. Ryan was unable to post bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in state Superior Court in Norwalk the next day.
