Scooter reported stolen from garage

A $1,500 scooter was reported stolen from a Summit Ridge Road home June 20, according to New Canaan police.

The complainant, a 51-year-old woman, called police at 4:51 p.m. after she went in her garage and noticed the red and white scooter was missing, police said.

At about 1 p.m., the victim was sitting in her backyard when she heard a noise on her driveway, according to the report. She saw two Hispanic males riding a white scooter into her driveway as well as a white van with blue lettering on the side parked on the road in front of her house, police said. The woman told police she initially did not think anything of the situation, the report states.

Police said the victim's Honda Metropolitan scooter was parked inside the garage but it is not clear whether or not the garage door was open.

The case is under investigation.
