NEW CANAAN — A 37-year-old New Canaan woman was charged with driving under the influence after hitting a City Carting container, police said.
On Jan. 19 at 2:09 a.m. New Canaan police were dispatched to the area of 38 Forest Street on a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident where a vehicle struck a trailer.
Upon arriving, officers spoke with Deborah Catalano, the driver involved in the accident. According to police, Catalano admitted to having four to five drinks earlier in the evening and subsequently failed a standardized field sobriety test.
She was charged with DUI and posted $260 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 30.
