The first call to police came in at 3:30 a.m. when a Meadow Lane woman said she saw a suspicious person walking in her driveway and toward her garage, according to the report. The woman said the suspect was wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt, police said.

After talking to police, the woman looked outside again and saw the person walking toward Woodland Road, according to the report. When police officers arrived in the area, they were not able to locate the person.

When the woman went to her car that same morning, she said she noticed several things were out of place, but nothing was taken, police said. The woman then sent an email to her neighbors warning them about the suspicious person she had seen, according to the report.

Later that morning, the woman found a bicycle lying on a snow bank outside her house, police said. The $200 bicycle turned out to be one that was reported stolen from a Hawthorne Road home at 10:45 a.m., according to police.

Another report came from a Woodland Road woman, who said her cross-country skis were stolen from her garage, which was unlocked, police said. The items, valued at $520, are still missing.

At 6:30 p.m. that evening, a man who lives on South Avenue -- near the corner of Hawthorne Road -- called police to report that someone had stolen his credit cards and license from his wallet, which was in his car inside his garage from 9 p.m. the night before until 8 a.m. March 3, according to the report. Police said that both the car and the garage were unlocked and the wallet itself was not taken.

The cards were used and attempted to be used at different stores and gas stations, police said. A total of $394 was used before the victim was able to cancel the credit cards, according to the report.

Police said that all locations involved are within walking distance of each other.

The case is under investigation.
