Motorists should expect delays along the Merritt Parkway today as the Connecticut Department of Transportation conducts a surveying operation.
Southbound drivers will be subject to lane closures between a 5.6-mile stretch between Westport and Norwalk, from Exit 41 (Route 33, Wilton Road) to Exit 38 (Route 123, New Canaan Avenue) on Saturday. The surveying will last from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Northbound drivers too will be dealing with delays for approximately 10 miles, as lanes between Exit 36 (Route 106, Old Stamford Road) and Exit 40A (Route 719, Main Avenue) will also be surveyed over the same time frame.
This surveying schedule could be extended or modified, however, due to any weather delays or other unforeseen conditions, said DOT officials.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will help guide motorists through the work zone. DOT officials remind motorists to “maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.”
