Police said an officer who was patrolling Waveny Park at about 1:45 a.m. saw a group of males standing near Waveny House. Once the officer started driving that way, the subjects ran behind a wall while a car attempted to leave the area, according to the report.
The officer then stopped the car, and while speaking with the operator, Maloney, he noticed several signs of intoxication, like glassy and blood-shot eyes and a smell of alcohol, police said.
Maloney was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to police.
He posted $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 21.
