Major platinum and gold sponsors for Waveny LifeCare Network's 12th annual "Swinging for Seniors" Golf and Tennis Outing gathered to finalize plans for the May 19 event.

Waveny has put out a last call for golfers, tennis players and sponsors to participate in its 12th annual "Swinging for Seniors" golf and tennis outing scheduled for Monday, May 19, at the Country Club of New Canaan. Proceeds from the fundraising event will support Waveny's financial assistance program for residents and patients who cannot afford the full cost of their care at Waveny Care Center, Waveny's Adult Day Program, The Village and The Inn.

The "Swinging for Seniors" outing will begin with registration and lunch, followed by a golf shotgun start and a tennis round robin in the afternoon. Golfers will have several hole-in-one opportunities on the course with prizes, including a 2014 Corvette courtesy of Karl Chevrolet, and $10,000 in cash sponsored by Stronghold Insurance & Financial Services. The event will conclude with a reception featuring an awards ceremony and raffle drawing.

A number of sponsors already have signed up, including individuals and Bourgeon Capital Management, Joan F. Dionne Foundation, People's United Bank, Bankwell in New Canaan and Hearst Media, among others.

To join as a player or sponsor, contact Joanne Boyer at 203-594-5416 or jboyer@waveny.org.
