Robert A. McGoldrick, 20, of 117 East Putnam Ave., Riverside, was issued infractions April 1 for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and unreasonable speed.
An officer on patrol just before 5 p.m. saw a vehicle traveling west on Silvermine Road above the 30-mph speed limit for the area, according to the report. The officer stopped the vehicle near Beacon Hill Lane and approached the driver, who appeared to be nervous, the report stated.
The officer detected an odor or marijuana and asked McGoldrick if he had any drugs in the vehicle, but he was too nervous to answer questions, according to police. McGoldrick eventually said he had a marijuana grinder in the car, police said. The officer noticed marijuana residue in the grinder and decided to search the vehicle, according to the report. McGoldrick then handed the officer a pack of rolling papers and a jar with a small amount of marijuana that was in his backpack, police said.
When asked to produce his license, the officer reported that McGoldrick did not have it with him, police said.
