Cindy Sites' Go Figure Barre Studios recently opened a location in Carmel-by-the-Sea in California.
Cindy Sites, founder of Go Figure, oversees 10 locations from her home in New Canaan.
A classically trained dancer, Sites opened her first Go Figure Barre Studio in Greenwich 12 years ago. In addition to California, Sites has locations in New Canaan, Darien, Greenwich, Westport, Armonk, N.Y., Rye, N.Y., Nantucket, Mass., Palm Beach, Fla., and Scottsdale, Ariz.
"Being able to share my passion for ballet and fitness through this effective exercise method has been a life-changing experience," Sites said. "There's nothing more gratifying than helping others to become healthier, stronger and more fit."
Focusing on intense isometric movements designed to exhaust muscles followed by periods of deep stretching, Sites said the Figure Method provides a safe, effective way for women to become stronger and healthier in a fun, welcoming environment.
"At Go Figure, we pride ourselves in embracing every body type and age group. Regardless of one's level of flexibility and strength, virtually anyone can benefit from the Figure Method. It's extremely rewarding to see women of all ages and sizes working side-by-side to achieve healthier, stronger and more graceful bodies," Sites said.
Sites serves on the board of the School of American Ballet and has been a trustee at the American Ballet Theater for more than 20 years. She also served on former president George W. Bush's President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities, working with first lady Laura Bush on developing after-school programs for underserved youth.
Sites has been a fitness professional for more than 20 years and has taught Figure Method barre to thousands of students and instructors.
