Planning committee members of the annual Scottish Heritage Service at First Presbyterian Church surround the saltire.

The 41st annual Scottish Heritage Service will take place Sunday, May 18, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, 178 Oenoke Ridge, and feature the Mount Kisco Pipes and Drums.

Guests represent various Scottish clans and societies and will wear colorful Scottish attire. The wearing of kilts or other tartan clothing is encouraged, but not required.

The Rev. Paul Gilmore, First Presbyterian's senior pastor, will officiate, with the Rev. Alistair Drummond, a native of Scotland and now the pastor of the West End Presbyterian Church in New York City.

An original saltire, or heraldic banner, fashioned by members of

the church, will be a highlight of the processional.

A ceilidh, or Scottish celebration, will immediately follow the worship service outside the front entrance to the church.
