Flamur Thaqi, 27, of 21 Limerick St., Stamford, was arrested June 30 on charges of third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny.

Police said Thaqi went into a Frogtown Road home in New Canaan through a window in October 2009 and stole thousands of dollars worth of items, including flat-screen TVs, a desktop computer and jewelry. Though he didn't leave any fingerprints behind, police found a small amount of Thaqi's saliva on the tire of a car parked in the garage, according to the report.

The saliva was taken to a lab where technicians found a DNA match for Thaqi in March 2013, police said. After learning of a warrant for his arrest, Thaqi turned himself in at 4 p.m. June 30.

He posted $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 11.

Police said the man does not have any connections to the family.
