A 17-year-old male is facing a number of charges after police said he knocked his father unconscious following an argument at their Stonehenge Drive home.
The juvenile was arrested on Aug. 6 on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
New Canaan police said the teen smashed some of his own car's windows and damaged several items in the house just before his father arrived. When the victim came home, the two started an argument that escalated to the point that the teen punched hit his father, according to police. The victim told police he "fell to the ground and blacked out."
When the father regained consciousness, he called police, according to the report. When officers arrived, they saw substantial damage to the house and to the teen's 2002 Chrysler Concorde, police said.
Police said the victim was not taken to the hospital.
The teen was brought to Bridgeport's Juvenile Detention Center and was transported to court the following day.
