The 2014 NFL Alumni Connecticut Chapter Celebrity Golf Classic will take place Monday, June 9, at the Country Club of Darien, where more than 26 alumni will help raise funds for STAR Inc., Lighting the Way's Rubino Family Center.
Frank Gifford, former New York Giant and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will serve as honorary chairman of the event. NFL Alumni to participate include Steve Hurlow, chapter president, New York Giants and Washington Redskins; Joe Pisarcik, NFL Alumni president, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles; Craig Bingham, Pittsburgh Steelers; Scott Brunner, New York Giants; Richard Caster, New York Jets; Jeff Feagles, New York Giants; Nick Giaquinto, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins; Terry Hanratty, Pittsburgh Steelers; Bruce Harper, New York Jets; Don Herrmann, New York Giants; Brian Kelly, New York Giants; Niko Koutouvides, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks; Ernie Koy, New York Giants; Skip Lane, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins; Chuck Mercein, New York Giants and Green Bay Packers; Karl Nelson, New York Giants; Lee Nystrom, Green Bay Packers; George Radachowsky, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts; Eric Schubert, New York Giants; Dick Swatland, Houston Oilers; Bob Tucker, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings; Tom Vigorito, Miami Dolphins; Jeffrey White, New England Patriots; Jeff Wilner, Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos.
The golf tournament will be a one-day, 18-hole team scramble. Each foursome will be playing with an NFL Alumnus, and the event will include breakfast, lunch, cocktails and an awards dinner. The winning team will advance to the Super Bowl of Golf, the NFL Alumni National Championship Golf Tournament, which will take place at a top-rated West Coast golf resort. The team will compete against the winners of the other 30 chapter tournaments for the Super Bowl of Golf Ring.
STAR Inc., Lighting the Way is a not-for-profit organization serving individuals of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families.
