Scott A. Robertson, 48, of 244 Colonial Road, New Canaan, was arrested Jan. 13 on charges of interfering with an officer and breach of peace.
Police were dispatched to Colonial Road at 10 p.m. after a tow truck driver called to report his customer, Robertson, appeared to be intoxicated, according to the report. Robertson called for a tow truck earlier that night to help him with a flat tire a few houses down from his residence, police said.
When officers arrived, they noticed Robertson appeared to be intoxicated, but he claimed he had not been driving the car, according to police. Robertson could not clearly explain who was driving or what happened, so police could not prove he was operating the vehicle, according to the report.
As Robertson was being questioned at the scene, police said he became aggressive toward an officer. Police decided to pat him down for weapons, but he tried to resist and started flinging his arms, according to the report.
He was released on a promise to appear in court Jan. 23.
