A special one-hour program Monday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at the New Canaan Library will tackle identity theft and how to prevent it.
New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski will educate the audience on identity theft, the new schemes, the prevalence of the crime in New Canaan and protection. Following the presentation, Krolikowski will take questions and offer information on additional resources.
The program, which will be in the library's Adrian Lamb Room, is presented in partnership with the American Association of University Women, New Canaan branch. AAUW, founded in 1881, has as its mission the advancement of equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.
The ever-growing role of women in all areas of employment and financial responsibilities underscores the need for the kind of information Krolikowski will share.
Admission is free, but registration is required by visiting newcanaanlibrary.org or calling 203-594-5040.
