A New Canaan woman told police her cellphone was taken from her purse while she was shopping Feb. 6.
The 84-year-old complainant said she had the device on the side pocket of her purse when she left her home at noon, according to the report. She first went to CVS Pharmacy, 1058 Hope St., Stamford, and then to Walter Stewart's Market, 229 Elm St., New Canaan, police said.
At about 4:30 p.m., she noticed her cellphone was missing, according to the report. She called police at 6:07 p.m.
Police described the device as a non-flip phone valued at $100.
The case is under investigation.
