The Bennett Cancer Center's annual Walk, Run & Ride, the signature event for Hope in Motion, will be take place Sunday, June 1, which is National Cancer Survivor's Day.
Pre-registration will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Columbus Park, Stamford.
On the day of the event, registration opens at 6:30 a.m., the run begins at 8 a.m., the "survivor photo" takes place at 9:45 a.m., the walk begins at 10 a.m. and the closing ceremonies are at noon.
The events, which begin and finish in downtown Stamford's Columbus Park, consist of a 5K walk and a timed 5K run, as well as a 10K loop optional course. Routes for both events are available online at www.hopeinmotion.org.
The pre-registration fee is $35 and includes a T-shirt. Day-of registration is $45. During pre-registration, runners can pick up their bibs and timing chips and all participants may pick up their T-shirts and drop off donations.
New this year, participants supporting the Hope in Motion's ride will join cycling enthusiasts at the Sound Cyclists Bloomin' Metric Bicycle Tour, which is replacing the annual Hope in Motion event. The Bloomin' Metric will take place Sunday, June 1, at Sherwood Island in Westport.
Individuals can register for the Bloomin' Metric, a fully supported cycling event with 25-, 47.6- or 62.1-mile routes, at www.bloominmetric.com. Participants can support Hope in Motion and the Bennett Cancer Center by starting a team, joining a team or fundraising as an individual with no additional fee by visiting www.hopeinmotion.org after they have registered for the Bloomin' Metric. There is also an option to donate to Hope in Motion while registering for the Bloomin' Metric.
