Annual May Fair Saturday at St. Mark's

The 65th annual May Fair at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan takes place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

Rides, games, entertainment and other amusements are complemented by food, including grilled chicken, smoked brisket, corn on the cob, hot dogs and hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, fresh strawberries and other treats. The food court will be open until 5:30 p.m. or until supplies are depleted.

The White Elephant Tag Sale features thousands of items, including jewelry, furniture, rugs, china, crystal, art, collectibles, lamps, kitchenware, linens, electronics, toys, games, sporting goods and lawn furniture. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pivot Ministries Men's Choir, the New Canaan Dance Academy and Magical Music for Life will be performing through the lunch hour.

St. Mark's Green Tent will raffle off a pair of 20th-century modern lawn chairs by Dutch furniture designer Gerrit Rietveld. The raffle is free and open to all May Fair guests who listen to an environmental topic of their choice in the Green Tent.

A special bike parking area will be available to encourage guest to ride to fair instead of driving. Riders are asked to bring their own locks. The Getabout will shuttle attendees from the commuter parking lot of the New Canaan Train Station.

Proceeds from the May Fair support the mission of St. Mark's and fund outreach to charitable organizations. In the past five years, more than $580,000 has been donated to numerous organizations.
