7-year-old wins Walter Stewart's coloring contest

Madeline Scanlon, 7, is the winner of Walter Stewart's Market's coloring contest in conjunction with the Summer Theatre of New Canaan's production of "Merrilee Mannerly-A Magnificent New Musical," which is on stage through July 19.

Scanlon's prize is a stage-side party at the STONC's performance venue at Waveny Park.

The staff of Walter Stewart's and the STONC selected Scanlon, a student at West School.

All coloring contest entries are displayed in aisle four of Walter Stewart's, 229 Elm St. Children up to 9 years old submitted colored pictures of Merrilee Mannerly.

Scanlon's party will include food and beverages provided by Walter Stewart's Market.

Future coloring contests are planned for the STONC's performances of "The Little Mermaid Jr." and "Charlotte's Web."

In addition, Walter Stewart's is partnering with the STONC to deliver "Picnic and a Show" meal boxes to the Waveny Park tent before every performance.
